Votran Bike Week service interruptions announced

Bike Week brings heavy traffic and Votran riders should expect numerous delays, interruptions and route deviations. Schedule delays will begin Friday, Feb. 29, and continue through Sunday, March 9.
Detours are subject to change without notice.

“Votran will make every effort to notify customers as soon as possible,” said Lois Bollenback, Votran General Manager. “Buses will be rerouted to secondary roads when traffic becomes congested.”

The latter part of Bike Week tends to affect Votran routes/schedules more than the earlier days, added Bollenback. Although delays can happen anytime, there is unusually heavy traffic.

Route deviations include:

  • The buses will be unable to use the Intermodal Transit Facility March 6 - 9.
  • Beachside routes will board/deboard passengers on S.R. A1A.
  • Route 17A/B regular service will use the International Speedway Boulevard Bridge until traffic becomes too congested, then it will utilize Silver Beach Boulevard.
  • Buses on International Speedway Boulevard may detour to George Engram Boulevard on the westbound trips.
  • Route 60 eastbound will have to detour to LPGA Boulevard to the Volusia Mall.
  • There will be no service to First Data Corporation Thursday, March 6 or Friday, March 7.
  • Route 11 will not serve the Daytona Beach Flea Market Friday, March 7 or Saturday, March 8. Route 11 will end at Williamson and International Speedway boulevards.
  • Route 9 will depart Volusia Mall at 30 minutes after the hour on Thursday and Friday beginning at 12:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 8, it will serve the Daytona Beach Flea Market when possible at 43 minutes past the hour and will depart Volusia Mall on the hour beginning at noon. It will not serve the Volusia County Correctional Facility.
  • Night and Sunday service routes will operate out of the Transfer Plaza, March 6 - 9. There will be no service on Granada Boulevard between S.R. A1A and U.S. 1.
  • In New Smyrna Beach, there will be no service to Winn-Dixie or the Wal-Mart on S.R. 44 Thursday through Saturday, March 6-9.

Votran riders are encouraged to call for up-to-date route detours at 386-761-7700 in Daytona Beach, 386-424-6800 in New Smyrna Beach or 386-943-7033 in West Volusia.
